Team Anchors Away

Team Anchors Away is a testament to the program’s success.  Local wheelchair athletes have teamed up with the Anchors Away Program director and program captain to fish local tournaments in South Carolina to raise awareness and show that dreams really can come true!

Team Anchors Away has been created to promote awareness of the capabilities of persons with disabilities while competing in sport fishing tournaments throughout the eastern coast of the United States. Provide a revenue generating partnership with sponsors to help maintain the endeavors of the Anchors Away Program and promote a positive image of the corporations who support our team.

2010 Goals for Team Anchors Away:

  • Acquire one major sponsor to meet 2010 budget
  • Fish in one tournament each month (March-November)
  • Place "in the money" for 5 tournaments
  • Print and television media coverage
  • Sponsorship from local boat dealer for free labor for our two fishing boats
  • Sponsorship from tackle and clothing companies
  • Lodging sponsorship for each tournament
  • Provide two presentations to local rehabilitation facilities
  • Develop successful strategies for hosting a local fishing tournament in 2010 where all proceeds are split between the Anchors Away Program and a rehabilitation facility or local non-profit organization.
